Printable Baby Shower Invitations – How You Can Make Your Own

As parents, who wouldn’t love to make their baby shower party as memorable as possible?  You can just imagine how many parents who are expecting their first child are filled with excitement at the moment, awaiting their baby’s birthday.  By anticipating this event, many families celebrate baby showers by coming together and having a party.

Parents can start making the party happen by making their own printable baby shower invitations to inform their guests about the good news and invite them over for cocktails or a late afternoon barbecue.  Baby showers are one of the most exciting events that can happen to a new family who is just starting out so most future moms and dads would love the company of friends and family who want to wish the baby a safe journey into the world.

It can be quite fun for both future moms and dads to play around with colored paper and an easy-to-use card-making computer software to make the invitations.  Baby shower invitations are a great way to let people know that your baby is on its way, ready to become part of your world, and what better way to let people know than to be as creative as possible and make your own baby shower invitations.

When people think about baby showers, they love to see pink or baby blue, small flowers, trinkets, cupcakes, and such.  If the parents are expecting a girl, the colors to go with can be pink, yellow, purple or lavender, or cream.  If they are expecting a boy, the colors can be baby blue, red, and green.  A neutral color could be orange or brown.  It depends how you want the whole theme of your party to look like.  Most parents go for a sunny theme of flowers, or a cartoon character theme, whichever works and most of the time, the theme comes from what the parents want their child to like while growing up (sports, fashion, food, etc.).

Different ideas can be put onto the invitations as well.  Since the parents still don’t know what their baby would look like, they can make use of a computer program that joins their faces together to form a picture of what their baby could look like and make that as the front cover of the invitation.  A more formal invitation can just be a one-page card with all the details of the party and use the color theme to make the small designs on the card such as flowers, baby stuff like milk bottles, diaper pins, ABC blocks, etc.  The baby shower invitations can also contain souvenirs such as a pendant or bracelet which can be tied around the side of the invitation.  If parents are into more creativity and originality, they can create popup invitations.

In making the invitations, parents are not expected to make it perfect on the first try.  They can try printing a few samples first and decide which one they like the best.  Allow room for changes and improvement, and make sure that all the details are complete and correct.  It would help to get the details all set first, type them in, before moving onto designing the card which can be the exciting part (and this is where parents get carried away).

Things that can accompany your baby shower invitations include: self-made bookmarks with quotes or pictures of newborn babies to make your guest feel the spirit of the occasion, a food or drinks pass card (just a little something they can have once they get to your house or the venue of the party, a small token or souvenir (e.g. small pillow in a basket with a small baby figure, etc.), or some confetti in a small cork bottle, and the confetti can be shaped into stars or hearts, and they can throw this confetti when the celebration starts to welcome the parents.

Now that the printable baby shower invitations have been made, and parents have decided on a theme for their small get-together, it is always best to send out invitations one to two weeks early, especially if parents are expecting guests to travel from different parts of the country and also, just so we can make sure that guests will arrive.  The longer ahead that parents plan for this very happy occasion, the more prepared the guests will be and parents can expect to receive more gifts.
